The Three Circles method is a simple and effective way to explain the gospel using a visual model of three interconnected circles. It presents the big picture of the Bible in terms of God’s Design, Brokenness, and the Gospel. Here’s how it works:

1. God’s Design

God created the world and everything in it with a perfect design—including us. His design was for us to live in loving relationship with Him, with each other, and in harmony with creation.
Key verse: “God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.” – Genesis 1:31

2. Brokenness

Instead of following God’s design, we chose our own way. The Bible calls this sin, and sin leads to brokenness. We see brokenness all around us—in pain, addiction, conflict, injustice, and death. We try to fix it ourselves, but everything falls short.
Key verse: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

3. The Gospel

God didn’t leave us in our brokenness. Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, died for our sin, and rose from the dead to restore us to God. If we turn from our sin and believe in Jesus, we can recover and pursue God’s design again.

Response: Turn and Believe

We must repent (turn from our sin and brokenness) and believe (trust in Jesus and His work on the cross). Through Jesus, we can be made new and begin to live out God’s design.
